MOTHERBUCKER PICKUPS
The modern sleek look of the KX5 is superbly complemented by the aggressive look and sound of its Motherbucker MB-2F and MF-2R (H-H) pickups. With specs of 7500T for the front pickup and 9000T for the rear, both pickups deliver plenty of output to drive the amps or overdrive and distortion pedals hard. The Alnico 5 magnet provides exceptional power and punch with superb responsiveness and sensitivity. Besides for use in ultra high-gain settings for heavy music, four-conductor wiring adds the added versatility of coil-tapping to produce single-coil sounds ideally suited for blues and jazz.
T.O.M. BRIDGE WITH STRINGS-THRU-BODY DESIGN
The KX5 is equipped with a T.O.M. bridge and string-thru-body design for improved resonance and sustain.
COIL-TAP (PUSH-PULL TONE KNOB)
The push-pull tone knob potentiometer allows for the humbucker’s dual coils to be split into single-coil, providing a brighter and glassier sound ideal for genres such such as pop, funk and certain styles of jazz.
