Description

In Brian May’s own words, the Vox MV50BM is designed to provide players with a means to achieve “the sounds you make in a stadium show in your living room.” One strum through this hybrid amp head is all the proof you need that his collaboration with Vox has paid off in spades! The MV50BM amplifier head harnesses the power of Vox’s renowned MV circuitry to emulate the tone of a roaring AC30 — Brian’s preferred amp for decades — boasting 50 watts of power and a true tube preamp for natural, organic overdrive. Any devotee of Brian’s playing is well aware that a treble booster is a non-negotiable element of his iconic tone; the Vox MV50BM comes equipped with a togglable Knight Audio Technologies treble booster circuit to instantly unlock the instantly recognizable, vocal-like lead tone that’s graced just about every solo in the Queen catalog. Finally, if your volume restrictions run a bit shy of a stadium, the MV50BM sports a cab sim-enabled headphone/line-out for near-silent practice and recording.

An immaculate emulation of the legendary Vox AC30

To provide you with the most authentic tube-style AC30 tones possible, the Vox Brian May MV50BM starts with the same cutting-edge circuitry as the rest of Vox’s highly renowned MV50 series. Whether you’re after clean tones packed with jangle and chime or the raw, roaring tone of a cranked AC30, the MV50BM has you covered. Plus, guitarists love how the non-nonsense 3-knob control scheme of a Gain, Tone, and Volume knob makes it a breeze to dial in your favorite Queen riffs, licks, and solos.

ard KAT Treble Booster

For decades, Brian May’s signature tone has been consistently defined by three elements: his Red Special Guitar, his wall of Vox AC30 amplifiers, and a treble booster. While it’s unlikely that Brian is willing to give up his self-made Red Special guitar anytime soon, the MV50BM’s dead-on AC30-style tone is paired with a togglable treble booster circuit developed by Knight Audio Technologies — the very same company that builds many of the treble boosters that Brian plays up onstage.

Innovative Nutube technology

Don’t be fooled by the MV50BM’s portable size — this little hybrid head houses a true tube in its preamp section. It’s an old-school-meets-new-school touch that allows the MV50BM to break up with the best of them, only without the challenges (and heavy weight!) that are so common among all-tube designs. If you’re after highly dynamic, organic-sounding overdrive tones, the MV50BM will surely please even the pickiest tube fanatic.
